Vol. 519 No. 5

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

159 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the current position in relation to the acquisition of a site for a Garda station in Leixlip, County Kildare; the progress in this matter in the past three years; when it is likely that such a station will be opened; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14505/00]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 262 of 10 May 2000. The Commissioners of Public Works are awaiting clarification from the owners of the site referred to in my reply regarding the availability of the additional plot required to provide adequate access to the site. The other property to which I referred has been inspected and is not suitable for the new station.

It is not possible to say at this stage when the new station will be opened.
