183 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received an application from an organisation (details supplied) seeking grant assistance for its local awareness campaign on breastfeeding; when a decision will be made to assist this group with its important work; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

I recently met members of La Leche League of Ireland and agreed to make £6,000 available to it for a national breastfeeding awareness campaign. I have made arrangements with the organisation regarding payment of the grant. Further initiatives outlined by the organisation are currently being considered and a decision will be made shortly.
