The annual reports of the National Safety Council give information on the numbers of certificates awarded for swimming and water safety under the following headings: swim, safety, survival, rescue, resuscitation, examiners and instructors. This information is set out at pages 19 and 17 of the 1997 and 1998 reports, respectively.
