290 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the inter-departmental committee has finalised and submitted its report on a system of direct provision for refugee applicants; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14247/00]
It is assumed that the Deputy is referring to the policy document on all aspects of the reception of asylum seekers, which is being developed by the directorate for asylum support services in consultation with all of the relevant Departments and agencies.
It is envisaged that the policy document will be completed in the near future and I intend to bring proposals in this regard to Government shortly.
