Vol. 520 No. 1

Written Answers. - Flood Relief.

Paul McGrath

Question:

155 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the financial relief packages which he made available to farmers arising from the very severe flooding that occurred on the river Shannon earlier this year to help alleviate the severe loss of fodder and winter facilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15377/00]

While the severe flooding resulted in fodder and other losses for some farmers in the Shannon basin, the general level of fodder supplies during the winter was satisfactory. Accordingly, my Department did not introduce a special fodder compensation scheme.
