Written Answers. - Health Board Services.

Dan Neville

Question:

200 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children if there is a change in policy in the Mid-Western Health Board where transport for trainees to workshops for those with mental and intellectual disability, which has been traditionally funded by the board, is now been discontinued. [15002/00]

Dan Neville

Question:

201 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children if funding can be made available to facilitate a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary to travel from home to St. Cronin's Workshop in Roscrea. [15003/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 200 and 201 together.

Policy, including funding issues, on transportation for trainees with a disability attending workshops is a matter for the relevant health board in the first instance. Consequently, I have forwarded details of the questions relating to the board's policy in respect of transportation for trainees attending workshops and also the individual case referred to by the Deputy to the chief executive officer of the Mid-Western Health Board for his urgent attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
