Vol. 520 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Funding.

Bernard Allen

Question:

212 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make an annual funding of £1.1 million available to the Southern Health Board in order to finance a major plan for women's health covering the years 2000-2002. [15124/00]

Additional funding has been allocated to women's health and to services for women victims of violence in 1999 and 2000. My Department has now received women's health plans from each of the health boards, including the Southern Health Board. These plans range across a number of service programmes which seek to address women's health needs and any additional funding required will have to be considered in this context. Following the examination of the plans, any additional funding implications will fall to be considered in the context of discussions on the funding required for the health services generally for 2001.
