Vol. 520 No. 1

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Bernard Allen

Question:

223 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the further allowances available to a person (details supplied) in Cork, who is in receipt of a carer's allowance, for the full-time care he is giving his wife. [15179/00]

There are various forms of assistance available to eligible people with disabilities under the aegis of my Department and administered by the health boards. With regard to the individual case referred to by the Deputy, I suggest that this person contact the Southern Health Board for further details of these allowances, including rates of payment. The health board will forward an application form for the relevant schemes, where appropriate.
