Vol. 520 No. 1

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

Paul McGrath

Question:

366 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has received an application from an organisation (details supplied) in County Westmeath for grant aid under the recreational amenity grant scheme; if this application meets the criteria set down for this scheme; and when a decision is likely on this application. [15395/00]

Following an advertisement process, in excess of 1,600 applications were received under the 2000 sports capital programme.

Applications for funding under the programme have been received from the organisations in question. These applications, together with all other applications, are being evaluated against the programme's assessment criteria which are outlined in the guidelines which accompanied the application form.

I intend to announce the grant allocations at the earliest possible date following completion of this assessment process.
