97 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he will ensure that a forestry grant payment due to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny is paid at the post October 1999 rate in view of the fact that works were not completed until earlier this year. [15130/00]
As the plantation in question was completed prior to 1 October 1999, the increased rate of afforestation grant would not apply in this case. I am pursuing as a matter of priority the question of adequate loss of income premium increases for those who planted prior to 10 October last. It would not be possible, however, to back date afforestation grant levels.
