Vol. 520 No. 5

Written Answers. - Nurses' Salaries.

Austin Deasy

Question:

119 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children when payment of outstanding moneys arising from the nurses dispute in October 1999 will be paid to nurses within the South Eastern Health Board area. [16254/00]

On 31 March last, my Department wrote to all health boards, on my behalf, requesting them to take such steps as are necessary to ensure that all outstanding moneys due to nurses are paid without further delay. The health service employers agency also pursued the matter with employers. The latest information available to me concerning implementation in the South Eastern Health Board area is that outstanding increases were paid on 18 May and that arrears will be paid on 18 June.
