A working group is currently being established by my Department to review child and adolescent psychiatry and to finalise a plan for the further development of this service. The implications for the child and adolescent psychiatric services of proposals in the Mental Health Bill, 1999, will be among the issues to be considered by this group. The group is expected to commence its work shortly.
