I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Sargent – the need to ensure the use of unwanted animal manure and slurry, as well as human sewage, in anaerobic digesters to produce a useful gas and soil conditioner; and (2) Deputy Shortall – the need to provide financial assistance to nursing students pursuing full-time degree courses or who have recently qualified, given that they have been excluded by the Government's recent proposals in this area.
The matters raised by both Deputies have been selected for discussion.
