Brian O'Shea

Question:

157 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the action he will take in relation to a 17 year old person (details supplied) in County Waterford who may be suffering from sarcoidosis and has been put on a waiting list of almost two years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16417/00]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
