Vol. 521 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Michael Ring

Question:

196 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has had to wait five months to be called to Beaumont Hospital for an EMG in view of the severity of his pain. [16566/00]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
