Vol. 521 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Willie Penrose

Question:

258 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the steps that have been taken by him to put in train the process of erecting a new Garda station at Ballymore, County Westmeath in view of the commitment given in the course of an Adjournment debate in Dáil Éireann on 2 December 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16710/00]

There are plans to build a new purpose built basic unit type Garda station at Ballymore in due course in conformity with other priority projects on the Garda building programme. As an interim measure, some repair works have been carried out on the existing station and its condition will be kept under review.
