97 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Defence the plans, if any, he has for the retention and expansion of Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa Army Barracks, Renmore, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17072/00]
I do not propose to change the status of Dún Uí Mhaoilíosa military barracks, Renmore, County Galway. Over the past seven years my Department has spent £641,934 on building and engineering improvement works and a contract is currently in place to remove and dispose of asbestos insulation at the barracks. Further works will be undertaken at this barracks as required and as resources permit.
