The military authorities advise that they have received a total of 744 applications to date in response to the recent year 2000 general service recruitment campaign. Some 85 successful applicants have already been called for enlistment with the Permanent Defence Force. In addition, some 112 recruits were enlisted in the Permanent Defence Force over the period from January to end March 2000 from the 1999 recruitment campaign.
It is intended to enlist 750 personnel as general service recruits with the Permanent Defence Force from the year 2000 recruitment campaign.
