Question:

127 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health and Children the level of capital funding to be provided for Monaghan General Hospital in the year 2000. [17685/00]

The level of capital funding for Monaghan General Hospital in 2000 is a matter for the North Eastern Health Board. I understand that a project team has been established by the North Eastern Health Board to identify priorities for investment at Monaghan General Hospital in the context of the board's framework plan for the development of hospital services.

128 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health and Children the equipment provided for Monaghan General Hospital in the years 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000; and the total amount of funding provided in this regard. [17686/00]

The allocation of funding for equipment in Monaghan General Hospital is a matter for the North Eastern Health Board in the context of the overall resources provided to the board for this purpose by my Department. My Department has asked the chief executive of the board to investigate this matter and to reply directly to the Deputy.
