Vol. 521 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dairy Exports.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

83 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the number of countries to which Ireland currently exports dairy produce; the number of any such markets lost in the past five years; the number gained; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17856/00]

Irish dairy products are currently exported to approximately 110 destinations, both within the EU and worldwide. While some markets may not, for one reason or another, be active or attractive at a particular time, these circumstances can change from year to year depending on a range of factors including general supply and demand and the economics of milk production and marketing in the regions concerned.
