225 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Health and Children the total amount of money allocated by his Department, including money allocated to the North Eastern Health Board, to projects in County Louth under all headings for each year from 1997 to date; the details of each project to which money was allocated; the amount allocated in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18032/00]

My Department does not hold information on expenditure at the level of county. In view of the fact that the Department does not hold the information regarding counties, we have requested the chief executive officer of the North Eastern Health Board to contact the Deputy directly to furnish more information on moneys allocated to projects in County Louth. The North Eastern Health Board comprises counties Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. The following information outlines the allocations made to the North Eastern Health Board since 1997.

In 1997 the health board took over the funding of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, County Louth. Until 29 May 1997 the hospital was directly funded by the Department.

It is not possible to give a precise breakdown of the figures by county as some of the payments made were for capital purposes generally and a distribution of these payments by county is not available in the Department.
