I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application for a copy map was lodged on 16 June 2000. I am further informed that this application has been marked "Expedite" and will be completed as soon as possible.

Question:391 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will instruct the Land Registry Office to expedite the registration of a folio for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that it has been ongoing since 11 January 2000. [18067/00]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to a section 49 application, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 which was lodged on 28 March 2000.
I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, can take some time to process. Accordingly, it is not possible to estimate a precise completion date for the application concerned at this stage. However, I can assure the Deputy that the application is being expedited by the Land Registry.
