Question:

417 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act, 1987, made to his Department in each of the past three years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18505/00]

The number of requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act, 1997, received by my Department since the Act came into effect is as follows: 1998 – 306; 1999 – 648; 2000 – 364 up to 23 June 2000; Total – 1,318.
