Question:

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

485 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education and Science if an Inspector who visited Senior College, Dún Laoghaire on 9 June 2000, has submitted his report; if the accommodation schedule for individual subjects has been drawn up; if a decision has been made concerning the accommodation needs of the college, including the proposed refurbishment of Blackrock town HAll; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18326/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 436 and 485 together.

A senior inspector from my Department recently visited Senior College, Dún Laoghaire, to meet the principal and chief executive officer of Dún Laoghaire VEC and to assess the accommodation needs of the school.

The inspector is now preparing a schedule of overall accommodation for the school, which will be forwarded to the VEC for acceptance when complete.

Once the overall accommodation needs of the college have been determined, the proposals relating to the refurbishment of Blackrock town hall will be considered more closely.
