Vol. 522 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Transport.

John Perry

Question:

456 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo and extend the school transport service to ensure that she is collected in her local village in view of the fact that she is an only child attending a psychiatrist, has refused to attend any other school all of which can be substantiated by the school principal; if he will make a favourable decision; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18079/00]

My Department has been in contact with the transport liaison officer of the relevant vocational education committee regarding the pupil in question, who will start post primary school next September. I understand that the question of school transport facilities to her preferred school has been resolved to the satisfaction of the pupil concerned and her parents.
