Question:

498 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 320 of 20 June 2000, the ninth mainstream teacher can be retained based on the projected enrolment of 249 pupils for September 2000 as outlined in the submission (details supplied) based on the developing school criteria; and if he will consider this school when allocating additional teachers to schools with disadvantaged status. The board of management of the school referred to by the Deputy has been requested to forward further details regarding the pupils being enrolled in September 2000 and the pupils leaving the school at the end of the current school year to my Department. As soon as the details are submitted they will be examined and the board of management will be advised of the staffing position.
