502 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will outline the budget for the early school leaver initiative and the stay in school initiative; and the total number of projects, the number of students and the number of pupils involved in this regard. [18391/00]

In regard to the pupil numbers in the stay in school initiative, the position is that the majority of school plans are in the course of preparation and it is not possible to give the figures sought by the Deputy at this stage. When the plans are finalised, I will arrange for the figures to be compiled and forwarded to the Deputy.
