Question:

78 Mr. Stanton asked the Taoiseach the number of work days lost due to industrial action in each of the years 1997 1998, 1999 and to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18148/00]

The latest information available on industrial disputes is in respect of 1999. Results for quarter one of 2000 will be published by the CSO on Thursday 29 June.

In 1997, 74,508 days were lost due to industrial action. In 1998, 37,374 days and in 1999, 215,587 days were lost.
