96 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Finance if the negotiations regarding the funding pro gramme of the national and EU Structural Funding 2000-06 are taking longer than anticipated; when he expects the negotiations to conclude; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18594/00]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 89 of 22 June 2000 which outlines the position on this matter. The European Commission gave its agreement in principle on the Community Support Framework, CSF, for Ireland on 26 June last.
