Question:

121 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Health and Children the action he will take to reduce the waiting and referral times for patients attending breast clinics as contained in the recent report of the Women's Health Council; and the further action he will take to implement the recommendations of the council. [18402/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 60 and 121 together.

I recently received a draft report from the national cancer forum on the development of services for symptomatic breast disease. This report contains a number of recommendations for the development of an improved quality service based on international practice. I am currently considering this report and it will be my intention to invest significant resources to bring about the improvements recommended.
