Vol. 522 No. 4

Written Answers. - Health Centres.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

130 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health and Children the current position regarding the proposed renovation and extension to the dispensary and health centre at Stranacorkra, Derrybeg, County Donegal. [18850/00]

The provision and maintenance of health centres in County Donegal is a matter for the North Western Health Board in the first instance.

The source of funding for health service capital developments, including the renovation and extension of health centres, is the funding available under the national development plan, NDP. I have recently advised each of the health boards, including the North Western Health Board, of the health centre projects which will be funded this year under the NDP, based on the board's prioritised lists. The project at Stranacorkra, Derrybeg was not included in the board's priority list for this year.

I have been advised by the North Western Health Board that draft plans have been drawn up in relation to the health centre at Stranacorkra and that the consultation process is currently being progressed prior to finalisation of the plans.
