Question:

225 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when the application for Irish citizenship will be concluded in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare in view of the fact she has qualified since his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 121 of 4 March 1999 and has clarified all outstanding issues; his views on whether sufficient time has elapsed since this application was made; when he will give a decision; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The application for a certificate of naturalisation in respect of the person referred to by the Deputy is in the final stages of the process.

I expect to be in a position to advise both the applicant and the Deputy of my decision in the near future.
