Vol. 522 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Legal Action.

Question:

234 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of legal actions entered into by the Department within the last 12 months; the number that are either successful, failed or ongoing; the total cost of these actions; the number of barristers employed; and the amount of money given to each barrister. [19080/00]

The information requested by the Deputy is not readily available and could only be obtained by diverting substantial staff resources from other important work. However if the Deputy has a specific case in mind, I will have further inquiries made in the matter.
