Vol. 522 No. 4

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Seán Ryan

Question:

306 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans he has for the provision of a new national school in the parish of Donabate to meet the school-going population needs post-2002, in view of the projected increase in the population; and if his attention has been drawn to the addition to the already approved extension of eight classrooms in St. Patrick's school, Donabate. [19110/00]

My Department is aware of the anticipated growth in population in the Donabate-Portrane area of north County Dublin, owing to housing developments in that general area.

In this context, the planning section of my Department is examining the likely primary school accommodation requirements in the medium to longer term and how those requirements can most appropriately be met.
