Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Bernard Allen

Question:

605 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the plans, if any, he has to implement the recommendations of the faculty of paediatrics at the RCPI; and the implications these recommendations will have for paediatric units in Cork, Limerick and Dublin in view of the fact that the report states that, in the longer term, paediatric and neo-natal services should be on a single site in both Cork and Limerick. [20149/00]

The report referred to by the Deputy was recently received by my Department and is at present being reviewed in the context of future national paediatric medical manpower need and service provision.

I have no plans to implement the recommendations contained in the report pending the completion of this review.
