618 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath admitted to Tullamore General Hospital for a hip replacement operation as he is suffering great pain. [20315/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
