Question:629 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of homeless children in the Dublin area. [20419/00]

Based on information received from the Eastern Regional Health Authority it is estimated that at least 400 young people are out of home in any one year. The Northern Area Health Board on behalf of the three boards in the Eastern Regional Health Authority area is introducing a computerised bed management system for homeless children which will give more detailed information when it is in place.
