41 Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will initiate a public inquiry into the bombing at Castleblayney, County Monaghan, on 7 March 1976. [19974/00]
In his report "A Place and a Name", the Victims' Commissioner, Mr. John Wilson, while not recommending that cases such as the Castleblayney bombing of 1976 should be the subject of a formal inquiry, recommended that "the Government, taking heed of the need to preserve the confidentiality and safety of informants, should, on request from the family of victims, produce reports on the investigations of murders arising from the conflict over the last 30 years where no one has been made amenable."
