Vol. 524 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

213 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive headage and premia for 1999 on the 12.45 hectares applied for on his area aid application; and if he will intervene in this case as he has submitted proof of his holding to the area aid unit by registered post. [22168/00]

The 1999 area aid application of the person named has been reviewed in conjunction with the processing of his 2000 area aid application. The area for payment purposes for both years has now been determined at 12.45 hectares.

While his entitlements under the 1999 cattle headage scheme and the 1999 suckler cow premium scheme were calculated on the basis of 12.12 hectares, the person named was paid his full entitlements under these schemes. The increase in forage area from 12.12 hectares to 12.45 hectares does not make any material difference to his entitlements. He was paid his full entitlement of £757.80 under the 1999 cattle headage scheme on 28 September 1999 and he was also paid his full entitlement under the 1999 suckler cow premium scheme based on his quota of eight cows. The first advance of £639.07 was paid to him on 1 November 1999 and the balance of £426.05 was paid to him on 7 February 2000. The 1999 suckler cow euro-compensation of £56.72 was paid to him on 20 December 1999. His entitlement of £345.04 under the 1999 extensification premium was paid to him on 9 June 2000. No further grants are due to him under the 1999 schemes.

His entitlements under the 2000 cattle headage scheme and the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme will be paid to him within the next seven days.

Question:

215 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 2000 cattle and sheep headage. [22217/00]

One of the parcels claimed by the person named in his 2000 area aid application overlaps with a parcel of land claimed by another applicant. The person named was contacted in this regard and in his reply clarified the position by including a map showing the correct position. This information is now being entered in the Department's electronic database and any payments due will issue as soon as possible.
