A site is being sought for a proposed new Garda station in Derrinturn that will replace the existing station in Carbury. A potential property has been identified and this will be considered in conjunction with any other properties that may be available.

Work on the construction of a new Garda district headquarters in Cobh commenced in August 2000. The contract is due for completion in October 2001.
