335 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason a new house grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22068/00]

Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Molloy):

A new house grant cannot be allowed in this case as, contrary to a condition of the scheme, one of the applicants previously had purchased a house for their own occupation.
