Vol. 524 No. 2

Written Answers. - Compensation Payments.

Michael Finucane

Question:

190 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his attention has been drawn to the financial hardship of a person (details supplied) in County Limerick as a result of the reduced compensation for his pedigree herd following a disease breakdown; and when the balance of the compensation will be paid. [21883/00]

This case was recently reviewed by my Department following which it was decided that the herdowner concerned should be paid additional compensation within the current compensation regime over and above the amount already paid in June 2000. The additional payment issued to the person concerned on 3 October.
