Vol. 524 No. 4

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

140 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when he will allocate national lottery moneys again; if existing applications will be held over; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22717/00]

Following the public advertising of the sports capital programme for 2000, in excess of 1,600 applications were received, including an application from the organisation in question. All of the applications were assessed in accordance with the assessment criteria outlined in the guidelines, terms and conditions governing the programme. Grants were allocated to approximately 650 projects. All unsuccessful applicants were advised of the position regarding their particular application and that they may apply under the following year's programme.

Accordingly, the 2000 programme is now completed but I am planning to invite applications for funding under the sports capital programme for 2001 in December next.
