Vol. 524 No. 6

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers' Scheme.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

203 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Finance if a study group is investigating the eligibility rules for the disabled drivers and disabled passengers (tax concessions) scheme; if so when the findings of the group will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23569/00]

As I have informed the House on a number of occasions, including an Adjournment debate last week, an inter-departmental review group, under the chair of an official from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform was set up to review the disabled drivers' and disabled passengers' (tax concessions) scheme. That review group has received oral and written submissions from interested parties and I understand that these are now being examined. The review group has given no indication yet of when its work will be completed.
