Vol. 524 No. 6

Written Answers. - Health and Social Services.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

236 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received a case study from the Victim Support Organisation on the existing health and social services for juveniles in the south east; the measures he intends to put in place to deal with the crisis in services outlined in this study; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23605/00]

I received the report referred to by the Deputy from the victim support organisation on 18 October. The provision of services to children in need of care and protection is a matter for the health boards. I received a report from the relevant health board, south east, on this matter today. I am following up on the matter and will communicate with the Deputy as soon as possible.
