287 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will give details of the outcome of the investigation into the escape of a person on 13 October 2000 who absconded with the keys of the Oberstown boys' centre, County Dublin. [23528/00]
My Department is currently carrying out a full investigation into the absconding incident of two young persons from Oberstown boys' centre on 13 October 2000. Pending the completion of the investigation, I am not in a position to give the Deputy details of the outcome.
In the meantime, the management of Oberstown boys' centre has assured me that appropriate steps have been taken to reduce the prospect of a recurrence of such an incident.
