Vol. 525 No. 2

Written Answers. - EU Directives.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

260 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will detail, from the time of the present Dáil, the financial penalties imposed on the Government resulting from the failure of his Department to comply with EU directives; and the legal proceedings that are now pending by the EU as a result of the failure of his Department to comply with EU directives. [24134/00]

No EU directives have fallen to the Department of Foreign Affairs to implement during the lifetime of the present Dáil. Similarly, with regard to directives falling to the Department of Foreign Affairs to transpose, no penalties have been applied and no legal proceedings are pending.
