Question:

319 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the delay in payment of headage premia to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [24041/00]

The 2000 area aid application for the person named has been fully processed with no outstanding errors and the area for payment purposes has been determined at 32.02 hectares. Payment of £1402.80 under the 2000 cattle headage scheme has now issued to the person named. Payment under the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme will issue within the next seven days.

Question:

320 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive cattle and sheep headage for 2000. [24042/00]

The 2000 area aid application for the person named was randomly selected for inspection in accordance with EU regulations. The results of this inspection are expected to be returned to the area aid unit within the next ten days and will then be processed without delay. Any payments due will then be made as soon as possible.

Question:

321 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo received a reduced third year REP scheme payment in view of the fact that he only amended his REP scheme plan on the advice of an official from his Department. [24043/00]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 206 of 17 October 2000.

The agri-environmental plan submitted by the applicant was deficient and required amendment. An amended plan was submitted on 15 December 1999. In all cases where an amended plan is received the scheme conditions and agri-environmental specifications in force at time of lodgement must be complied with.

Question:

322 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive cattle headage for 2000. [24044/00]

One of the parcels claimed by the person named as part of her 2000 area aid application was also claimed by another herdowner. A letter accompanied by maps issued to the person named with a view to resolving the dispute.

The person named has now responded and her Land Registry maps show that she does not have a right to claim the parcel in question, but actually meant to claim a parcel of land directly adjacent to this parcel. In the particular circumstances of this case, the area aid unit is prepared to regard the dual claim as an obvious error on the part of the person named and to allow the parcel concerned to be added to her application.

The details of this parcel are now being entered on the Department's electronic database. No payments can issue until this process is completed.
