Question:

618 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the plans he has to increase the resources to each health board or authority area to ensure that inspection and audit frequencies in the environmental health services are increased. [24696/00]

Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children (Dr. Moffatt):

I hope to make additional resources available in 2001 for environmental health services. However, the amount of available resources will depend upon the completion of the Estimates process and the finalisation of service plans by the health boards.
