217 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the work carried out to date by the project team appointed to undertake an option appraisal for a health infrastructure in Athlone, County Westmeath; and the timescale involved in relation to the project brief; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The inaugural meeting of the project team took place on 24 October 2000 and the option appraisal process has commenced. As the preparation of the project brief is interlinked with the advancement of the option appraisal process, it is premature at this time to give a definitive timescale for its completion. However, every effort is being made to complete the project brief as soon as possible.
